Mary Fuscaldo – Artist

Specializing in pastel landscapes, Mary Fuscaldo earned her degree in Fine Arts from Drake University and has studied design, drawing and painting at Delta College and the Art Academy of Cincinnati. In addition, she has added to her repertoire by participating in workshops of accomplished artists Bill Hosner and Alan Flattmann in Michigan, and abroad in France with artist friends, Scotland with Elizabeth Mowry and mentored with Michael Chesley Johnson in Sedona, AZ.

Mary is an active member of the Traverse City art community and a resident of the nearby Leelanau Peninsula. She teaches pastel classes and local workshops in Traverse City, Leland, and Glen Arbor, Michigan. She is the president of the Great Lakes Pastel Society and on the faculty of The Art Center Traverse City. Gaining further inspiration through travel, Mary has enjoyed painting in the Southwest, and overseas in Italy and New Zealand, where she taught a pastel workshop in 2007.

Mary’s award winning art has been shown in numerous jury and solo exhibits and is currently represented by Main Street Gallery in Leland, Sheffield Gallery in Traverse City, Northwood Gallery in Midland, and Viola Gallery in Elk Rapids, Michigan.  Her work is also available at her Leelanau Peninsula studio/gallery, where she teaches small classes and mentors. Her book “Look About You” was a northern Michigan best seller and a finalist for Book of the Year with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association. Her paintings have been published on the covers of The American Spoon Foods Catalogs and ForeWord Magazine. Mary’s originals are in private, public, college and corporate collections nationwide.
